Famous Hollywood actor Johnny Depp is going to sit in the director’s chair for the first time in 25 years. The popular actor will direct a biopic on Italian artist Amedeo Modigliani next year, titled ‘Amedeo Modigliani’.
According to a recent Hollywood report, Johnny Depp and veteran actor Al Pacino will produce the movie together. However, nothing has been announced yet about who will act in the movie.

Amedeo Modigliani was an Italian painter who achieved fame mainly posthumously. His style was not well received during his lifetime and he found himself a critical and commercial failure.
According to Hollywood Reporter, the movie, based on the play by Dennis McIntyre and written by Jerzy and Marie Chromolowski, will revive the life story of the famous painter, who lived in Paris in the early 20th century.

Regarding his involvement in the film, Johnny said, ‘I feel incredibly honored to be bringing Mr. Modigliani’s life story to the screen. It was a life of great hardship, but triumphant in the end. It is a universal human story that all audiences can relate to.
According to reports, Johnny is producing the film for IN.2, the European arm of his production company Infinitum Nihil. Al Pacino and Barry Nividi are co-producing the film. The report also said that the movie will start shooting in France in the spring of next year. The selection of actors and actresses will be done sometime this year.

Johnny Depp has only directed one film in his entire career. He directed the 1997 film The Brave, in which he starred alongside Marlon Brando. Apart from this, this ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ famous actor has also produced 11 films with box office success like Hugo.
